Organisation of the programme 

  1. The PhD study programme taught in English offered by the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, hereafter referred to as the PhD programme, is offered to both Polish and international students.
  2. The PhD programme is a 4-year programme.
  3. The students are charged tuition fees. The amount of tuition fees are determined by the Rector on a proposal from the Dean. The fees can be different for the following two categories of students:A student can be exempted form the tuition fee by the Rector on a request from the Dean.
    • citizens of Poland and citizens of any other European Union or European Economic Area country,
    • citizens of other countries.
  4.  A student can be exempted form the tuition fee by the Rector on a request from the Dean.
  5. The PhD programme is offered in the following areas (disciplines): Automatic Control,
    • Computer Science,
    • Electronics,
    • Telecommunications.
  6. A candidate is admitted for studies in one of the above listed areas and is affiliated with one of the institutes of the Faculty.
  7. Each PhD student has his/her individual advisor – a professor employed at the Faculty.
  8. The PhD programme is part of the study system at the Faculty. In particular:
    •  the schedule of events during the academic year (beginning and end of the fall and spring semester, beginning and end examination period, etc.) is the same as for the programmes taught in Polish,
    •  the academic regulations and administrative procedures are similar to those established for the programmes taught in Polish.

 

Supervision and administration of the programme

  1. The PhD programme is supervised by the Faculty Council. The Faculty Council takes decisions regarding:
    • curriculum requirements (to be approved by the Rector),
    • academic rules (to be approved by the Rector),
    • admission procedure.
  2. The PhD programme is administered by the Director of the PhD programme taught in English, hereafter referred to as the Director of the PhD programme. The Director of the PhD programme taught in Polish is also the Director of the PhD programme taught in English.
  3. Decisions on the interpretation of regulations included in this document and other relevant documents and on issues which are not regulated are taken by the Dean or – on the Dean’s authorisation - by the Director of the PhD programme.
