Control and Software Engineering Division

The research in the division is carried out in two research groups: Control Engineering Group and Software Engineering Group. The main research area of the first group encompasses structures and algorithms of advanced feedback control, supervisory process control and optimization, including also process modeling for control purposes. The main area of interest of the second group is the development and quality evaluation of software. Members of the division carry out teaching activities covering their main research areas, but also real time systems including industrial networking.

Operations and Systems Research Division

Research of the division is concerned with Operations Research and Systems Analysis area encompassing the development and application of analytic methods to support complex systems planning and management. The theory covers a whole area of mathematical programming including linear, non-linear and discrete optimization as well as decisions under risk and multiple criteria problems. Applications in the network structure development, deregulated electric power industry, IP networks, computer integrated manufacturing as well as financial engineering are considered.

Systems Control Division

Research of the division is conducted in 3 research groups:

  • Biometrics and Machine Learning Group
  • Complex Systems Group
  • Robot Programming and Pattern Recognition Group
