Completing Thesis Preparation in the semester 2024Z

We would like to remind all interested students, especially students who plan completion of their study programme, either bachelor or master, in the current semester, that thesis preparation is credited in the USOS system just like all other courses.

 

Students who plan to complete their programme and submit their diploma thesis in the current semester should register on the USOS-web portal for one of the following courses:

  • Bachelor Thesis Preparation (103A-xxxxx-ISA-ESDP2) – in the first-cycle programme in English
  • Przygotowanie pracy dyplomowej inżynierskiej (103B-xxxxx-ISP-PDI2) – in the first-cycle programme in Polish

or:

  • Master of Science Thesis Preparation (103B-xxxxx-MSA-EMSC3) – in the second-cycle programme in English
  • Przygotowanie pracy dyplomowej magisterskiej (103B-xxxxx-MSP-PDYM) – in the second-cycle programme in Polish

The registration for each of the above-mentioned courses is made directly to a particular class group, i.e. student registeres simultaneously for the course and for the appropriate class group, in accordance with his/her assignment to the graduating institute.

Registration for the preparation of a diploma thesis, or rather for one of the following courses: 103B-xxxxx-ISP-PDI2, 103A-xxxxx-ISA-ESDP2, 103B-xxxxx-MSP-PDYM, 103B-xxxxx-MSA-EMSC3, will take place on the USOS-web portal from November 26, 2024 until the last week before the deadline for submitting the diploma thesis in the winter semester, according to the academic calendar.

The last week before the deadline for submitting theses is intended for course coordinators to order class groups, in case  that students make a mistake when choosing a class group (corresponding to the graduating institute), as well as to issue pass grades, if students submit a theses that have received a positive opinion from the supervisor.

Caution

The deadlines for submitting thesis are different for first-cycle and second-cycle programmes, with the deadline being significantly earlier for the first-cycle programme.

Registration for the Bachelor Thesis Preparation

We ask students to familiarize themselves with the course registration calendar on the USOS-web portal.:

We also ask students to contact the secretary at their graduating institute before registering for the course Bachelor Thesis Preparation (103A-xxxxx-ISA-ESDP2) or Master of Science Thesis Preparation (103B-xxxxx-MSA-EMSC3), or their Polish equivalents, to learn about the requirements for submitting diploma theses.

Caution

Starting from the winter semester 2024/2025, it is not required to pass any of the following courses::

  • Bachelor Diploma Edition (103A-xxxxx-ISA-EBDE) – in the first-cycle programme in English
  • Redakcja i edycja pracy dyplomowej inżynierskiej (103B-xxxxx-ISP-EPDI) – in the first-cycle programme in Polish

or:

  • Master Diploma Edition (103A-xxxxx-MSA-EMDE) – in the second-cycle programme in English
  • Redakcja i edycja pracy dyplomowej magisterskiej (103A-xxxxx-MSP-EDYM) – in the second-cycle programme in Polish

Since, starting from the winter semester 2024/2025, for passing the course Bachelor Thesis Preparation (103A-xxxxx-ISA-ESDP2) or Master of Science Thesis Preparation (103B-xxxxx-MSA-EMSC3), or their Polish equivalents, you will receive not only the appropriate number of ECTS credits but also an additional 1 EDYP credit (for editing of a diploma thesis). In other words, starting from the winter semester 2024/2025, passing the preparation of a diploma thesis is combined with passing the editing of this thesis.

 

Caution
Information for those who have passed the preparation of a diploma thesis in previous semesters, but have not passed the diploma edition

Students who have passed the preparation of a diploma thesis in previous semesters, but lack the credit for editing and proofreading the diploma thesis to complete their studies, should submit a (general) application on the USOS-web portal with a request to register for one of the courses: Bachelor Diploma Edition (103A-xxxxx-ISA-EBDE) or Master Diploma Edition (103A-xxxxx-MSA-EMDE), or their Polish equivalents..
